The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Field Security Manager. As a Field Security Manager, you will be responsible for administering the security contract and ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.  This position is responsible for the direct management of client facilities; client occupied properties and the security staff at those facilities as delegated by the Regional Director. The Field Security Manager will direct and oversee activities of security operations staff, enact supervision and management in an effort to safeguard premises and employees against risk of unauthorized entry, fire, theft, vandalism, and opportunities for criminal activities. This position will enforce security rules and safety standards and review security-related problems, ensure that appropriate measures to correct procedures in effort to reduce risk and exposure to risk and implement security operations in accordance with client business objectives. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies, strategies, rules, regulations and activities assigned, required or designed to meet organizational goals, comply with local laws and or eliminate or reduce threats and vulnerabilities.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Primary liaison between company and client senior management
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel assigned to his/her site
  • Direct activities of all contracted security staff, including Security Site Supervisors, Shift Supervisors, on-boarding officers and all other assigned security patrol posts
  • General Human Resources management; including selection and placement, performance reviews, attendance management, conflict resolution; scheduling, and payroll
  • Review alarm system open/close reports, compile exception reports and forward to appropriate security manager/operations manager for review;
  • Provide monthly report to the facilities and corporate security organizations detailing all pertinent activities that have occurred in the previous month concerning any security and safety issues
  • Administer G4S Safety Program; semi-annually review and revise the security Emergency Response plan
  • Conduct and document monthly testing of security systems; follow through on any corrections/maintenance issues
  • Scheduling; maintain overtime to a preset requirement designated by G4S
  • Direct security operations at single or for multiple sites
  • Direct supervision and management of security personnel resources to achieve appropriate security for safeguarding of client assets, employees and customers
  • Maintain professional, effective coordination with security vendors / contractors to provide contractual support to client sites in terms of services and/or resources
  • Execute client policy regarding response to fire, theft, vandalism, and natural disasters, while insuring compliance with local ordinances governing security, fire and safety regulations
  • Ensure that client organizational goals and objectives are adhered to by all site security personnel and business management
  • Ensure that all key metrics, incident reporting, audit requirements, indexes, logs and other measures of security performance and activities are accurately reported and summarized for CSIS management review in the form of reports as directed
  • Ensure that client security procedures are enforced and revised for all matters related to the operation and that all security personnel are trained to respond to emergency situations
  • Interact with other internal departments on issues involving the security function
  • Attend meeting on behalf of client security managers and fully represent the client security program to our business partners, clients, and official governmental agencies
  • Conduct training, Operational readiness exercises and ensure that security staff is well practiced and rehearsed in the execution of security operations, drills, assignments and the day- to-day functioning of security systems

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary state or federal licensing requirements
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, security administration, or a related field of study with 5 years of security experience.
    • Minimum of 7 years in private sector security industry functions with demonstrated competency in incident command and crisis management
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in military and/or law enforcement
  • Work history to include demonstrated knowledge of safety inspections, security hardware, and security software systems
  • Work experience and prior exposure in crisis response management and operational participation in incidents and events
  • Work experience including demonstration of knowledge of industry and public-sector incident response protocols consent with regional agencies

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to provide in-depth training to operational personnel with varying levels of skill and experience
  • Must be flexible and be able to work traditional and nontraditional work hours as so determined by an event or circumstances
  • Must have a general understanding of financial management and accountability of functional expenditures
  • Must be able to provide critical leadership and active support of the regional security function
  • Must be able to provide direct leadership to area managers in Crisis situations as well as when Business as usual modes
  • Must have an understanding of a command structure
  • Must possess crisis management tools and technology in the areas of communications, event monitoring and incident response
  • Must possess advanced software and hardware skills consistent with applications for successful execution of the function
  • Must posses operational understanding of advanced relational database applications relating to a commend center a crisis management application/operation
  • Must possess general business operational understanding
  • Must have the necessary technical expertise appropriate to the knowledge of security response and crisis management function
  • Must have effective strategic planning and execution abilities
  • Must have vendor relationship management ability
  • Must have demonstrates a functional understanding of Security industry operations, technologies and processes
  • Must have demonstrated ability to provide critical leadership and active support, to regional teams, to ensure that risks and incidents are properly mitigated
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Office; indoor with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures expected

Major activity:        Working on PC while sitting; telephone use

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:      Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching, and reaching
