The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Dispatcher. The Dispatcher is responsible for operating selected client security systems hardware and software associated with ACS, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), and interfaces with other corporate applications and systems located in the United States. Inherent to this job is a responsibility for operating local and networked computer systems used by client personnel in support of the manufacturing customer base. Answer emergency phone calls and dispatch the proper resources for the incident​.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Watch for irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts Emergency Services Officers, police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel as required
  • Use proper telephone etiquette when answering phones
  • Radio communication and dispatch units for response for all emergencies
  • Report writing; investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintains written logs as required by the post
  • Ensure complete information is documented pertaining to incidents when receiving radio and phone calls
  • Follow correct procedure and contacts to be made when receiving medical, fire,
  • and incident calls
  • Use of the CAD System for Documentation, assigning case numbers, recording traffic stops, and moving / parking violations
  • Monitor and communicate Severe Weather Warnings to all plant personnel
  • Complete time sensitive daily reports
  • CCTV / DVR Monitoring
  • Telephone operation

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Associate's degree or higher in any discipline
    • Service in the active duty military, military reserves or National Guard
    • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets
    • Meaningful and verifiable work history
    • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Office, minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity:        Working on PC and using telephone/radio while sitting

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching.
