The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Healthcare Security Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for the supervision of security officers, Shift Supervisors, and the physical security of the client's hospital campus and its surrounding grounds. You will perform general security duties in the protection of persons and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations of the client. You must be a strong leader who can provide guidance to all reporting officers to enhance the security of the hospital campus.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Oversee customer relations, ensure Physical Security Surveys and post orders are updated regularly, and review disciplinary actions for consistency and propriety
  • General operations management; provide supervision to Shift Supervisors and Security Officers (e.g., implement standard security operations at the site, and ensure compliance through supervision)
  • General training management; ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met; quality assurance and contract compliance
  • General Human Resources management (indirect); coordinate with Human Resources personnel on recruiting efforts
  • Monitor attendance, tardiness, shift swaps and overtime usage
  • Investigate suspicious situations, possible crimes and other violations
  • Function as a member of the security and clinical team
  • Maintain professional competency by maintaining required certifications and attending appropriate training
  • Respond to client requests
  • Other duties as directed

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by the State of California
  • Must be able to pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • A minimum of one (1) year of verifiable security experience
  • A minimum of one (1) year of verifiable prior supervisory/ contract management experience
  • Prior experience in training and developing personnel at the site/project level

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling, light lifting
