As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the payroll and accounts receivable functions for the branch office, including programs, procedures, policies, systems analysis, and day-to-day management of payroll administration; serves as primary contact for the clients in billing matters.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry and posting of weekly payroll in Labor Scheduling
  • Research and resolve various payroll related questions and issues from employee base
  • Assist with basic payroll administration tasks, including timesheet reviews, preparation and validation of data
  • Research and prepare Payroll Corrections and present to Operations Manager for approval and authorization prior to completing correction entry
  • Generate and analyze weekly payroll reports to include but not limited to the No Earnings Report, Employee Over/Underutilization, Employee Primary Job Assignment Report and Hours Not Worked Report and advise Operations Manager of findings
  • Generate and analyze weekly Revenue and Expense Journals and Job Margin Reports and advise Operations Manager of findings
  • Manage Short Term Coverage Requests and Strategic Account requests
  • Responsible for basic fiscal analysis of the business and must advise Operations Manager and General Manager of poorly trending accounts on a weekly basis
  • Forecast and predict personnel staffing needs and advise Management
  • Maintain overtime to a minimal or preset requirement designated by G4S
  • Validate and prepare for Employee Vacation Requests

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in payroll, accounting, or other related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and in automated payroll applications such as the PeopleSoft HR, and experience with time and attendance tracking
  • Excellent skills in mathematics, reading comprehension, and oral and written communication
  • Working knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other employment related laws

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity:        Working on PC while sitting; telephone use

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Limited, to include some standing, bending, and limited stretching and reaching
