Job Introduction:


The Project Manager oversees and manages the operations and administrative requirements of the G4S locations that support detainee detention and transportation efforts in the Los Angeles Area of Responsibility. This position will ensure contract compliance in accordance with State, Federal, G4S policies and procedures as well as contract requirements. The Project Manager manages the various locations by assigning directives to a variety of Managers in the Program to include the 1st Line Supervisors, 2nd Line Supervisors, as well as Compliance Manager and Operations Manager. The Project Manager will be under the direct supervision of the California Regional Vice President.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Coordinate issues to ensure that all programs are in compliance with the Statement of Work, State, Federal and G4S policies and procedures by requiring daily oral summary reports, weekly meetings on operational issues and monthly written status reports
  • Provide account management and oversight for the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, development and retention of high caliber staff; plans assigns, and directs work; provide performance feedback, coach associates, and ensure disciplinary actions, as necessary; support staff as appropriate in carrying out their respective responsibilities
  • Review weekly the Profit and Loss (P&L) reports, Overtime Reports and any other fiscal reports to ensure compliance and fiscal responsibility
  • Maintain monthly communication both by phone and site visits with senior client representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and to minimize contractual performance issues
  • Review highly complex project developments to include plans, policies and procedures tasked to subordinate managers
  • Act as the final deciding official on adverse actions proposed and directed by the project subordinate managers when such actions are appealed
  • Provide as needed operational briefings to the Regional Vice-President
  • Conducts monthly office visits to ERO offices

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must be able to meet and maintain any applicable licensing or certification requirements
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of work experience in a security or law enforcement related field
    • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have at least five (5) years of administrative and project management experience in the detention and transportation of detainees
  • Work history must include ach of the following:
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of transportation operations management
    • Success in management of a large independent business enterprise or Government Program

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity: Working on a PC while sitting, walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
