The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Security Reception Officer. As a Security Reception Officer, you will be responsible for processing security and access permissions for the client's new employees and contractors, as well as existing personnel, visitors and others requiring building access.  The Security Reception Officer will also activate or deactivate photo identification cards as set by specified policies and perform other duties as specified in post orders.​

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Manage security footage and ensure footage is running properly
  • Manage visitor/contractor and employee activity on cameras to ensure the client facility is secure.
  • Emergency Response to any emergency calls to include fire, tornado, chemical, etc.
  • Monitor alarms, carbon and lime silos, and notification and follow up as necessary
  • Radio Usage
  • Manage the guard gate and vendor policy
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Maintain equipment check out procedures and Issue PPE as requested.
  • Render first aid to injured; log all first report of injury reports and have employees call the care line
  • Conduct Contractor safety orientation and assist with drug/alcohol procedure
  • Answer incoming calls and transfer/direct accordingly.
  • Manage the absenteeism system; distribute paychecks and time cards
  • Handle vending machine tickets
  • Data entry
  • Perform other duties as requested by his/her designee

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, First Responder certification within 60 days of assignment
  • Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • A minimum of one (1) year of prior documented security experience

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible schedules
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Office; indoor with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures expected

Major activity:        Working on PC while sitting; telephone use

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:      Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching, and reaching
