In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of client facility; ensure contract compliance by regularly inspecting the post and facility assigned; supervise security staff; and conducting performance evaluations during an assigned shift. Other duties include, but are not limited to, safety direction, quality assurance, planning, organizing, and directing the security team during normal and emergency operations.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Oversee that all aspects of the security function on-site is performed in a diligent manner (staffing, scheduling, and on-site training all G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc. personnel assigned to his/her shift)
  • Ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met
  • Maintain overtime to a preset requirement designated by G4S
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel assigned to his/her site
  • Perform other operations related functions (e.g., payroll, review and maintain incident reports, issue uniforms, coordinate fleet vehicles, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders)
  • Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision
  • Respond to client requests
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, including communication with all in both the languages of English and Spanish, as appropriate
  • Deter criminal activity and misconduct, investigate suspicious situations, conduct patrol tours
  • Communicate by use of Secure Trax , 2-way radios, telephones and computers
  • Maintain required certifications, licensing and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position
  • Complete required shift logs and reports; compliance with site post orders, G4S and client policies and procedures
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment, certification in each of the following:
    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
    • First Aid
    • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess each of the following:
    • Minimum of 3 years of corporate safety and security experience
    • Minimum of 1 year of security force management/supervisory experience

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures

Major activity: Working on a PC while sitting, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Sitting, observing, typing. Minimal standing or walking. Little to no reaching, or kneeling.
