Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Determine and prepare appropriate training programs specific to local customer needs and ensure local, state and federal laws meet/exceed requirements
  • Conduct and/or oversee all training for all personnel reporting to the sectors (e.g., state licensing, contract specific, annual refresher courses
  • Responsible for all officer uniform, equipment, weapon and Inventory of said equipment and/or uniforms
  • Review/Update Licensing Report
  • Review/Update Training Report
  • Review/Update Competency Management
  • Review/Maintain training records for audit by state and federal agencies, human resources, Deputy Director of Compliance and any other's as required

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess, or have the the ability to obtain, one or more of the following certifications:
    • National Rifle Association Instructor, Personal Protection
    • National Rifle Association Instructor, Basic Pistol
    • National Rifle Association Instructor, Home Firearm Safety
    • National Rifle Association Range Safety Officer
  • Must possess, or have the the ability to obtain, American Heart Association Instructor Certification
  • Must possess, or have the the ability to obtain, state certified instructor credentials for armed and unarmed security officer licensing in Arizona
  • Must possess Tactical Instructor certification in each of the following disciplines:
    • O.C. (Oleoresin Capsicum) Aerosol/Foam Spray
    • Handcuffs, leg irons, waist chain usage, defensive tactics, and pat-down searches
    • Baton practical application

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Verifiable work history showing reliability
  • Minimum of 3 years of classroom instructor experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience providing instruction in firearms

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail


  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Environment: Mostly indoor with minimal outdoor exposure to extreme cold/heat

Major activity: Standing, speaking, walking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, sitting, with minimal and kneeling.
