The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Workers’ Compensation Nurse Case Manager. As a Workers’ Compensation Nurse Case Manager, you will will be responsible for triage, initial and ongoing assessment, coordination, implementation and evaluation of injured/disabled employees involved in the medical case management process. Works as an intermediary between employee, field offices, third party administrator and medical care providers to ensure appropriate and cost-effective healthcare services and a medically rehabilitated individual who is ready to return to an optimal level of work and functioning. Creates a case management plan based on the assessment with measurable goals and objectives utilizing evidence-based criteria; monitors ongoing progress toward these goals and objectives; implements plan through case management interventions and communication with all parties to reach desired goals and objectives.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Triage newly acquired claims to determine severity of reported injuries; assess injured workers’ medical issues and coordinate the treatment plan to gain a successful file closure
  • Provide a complete continuum of quality care through close communication with members via phone; use clinical/nursing skills to help coordinate the individual’s treatment program while ensuring quality, cost-effective care
  • Monitor medical treatment to ensure medical protocol is within recognized parameters; coordinate light duty availability with medical providers and operations
  • Provide patient advocacy and education to assist with self-management; explain physician’s and therapists’ instructions, and answers any other questions the employee may have in an effort to facilitate his/her return to work
  • Identify gaps or barriers in treatment plans
  • Work with operations on job duty modifications based on medical limitations and the employee’s functional assessment

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
  • Current unrestricted RN license(s) in multiple US States
  • Ability to obtain certification in case management, rehabilitation nursing, or a related specialty (e.g., CCM, CRRN, CDMS, or COHN) within one year of hire date

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Minimum of five (5) years of risk and/or case management experience
    • Minimum of two (2) years of full-time work or education experience providing direct clinical care combined with a minimum of three (3) years of clinical care and/or case management experience
  • Must possess prior Workers’ Compensation experience
  • Work history must include each of the following:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to comprehend workers Compensation concepts and laws
    • Proven critical thinking skills that demonstrate analysis/judgment and sound decision making with focus on attention to details
    • Advanced customer service skills

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity:  Working on PC while sitting; telephone use

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Limited, to include some standing, bending, and limited stretching and reaching.
